As Component Engineer you will control the specification approval and management of company electronic & mechanical part data ensuring compliance to all relevant standards.
Working closely with the electronics & mechanical teams at the new part selection process, proactively manage component obsolescence using appropriate tools to scrub BoM data. Acquire and record the evidence necessary for compliance with RoHS, REACH, WEEE & other compliance standards.
The role will see the job holder joining a successful engineering company, who have ambitious plans to develop new and technologically challenging markets across the world. The job holder will be required to work occasionally at SEAs other locations and from customer and supplier sites.

What you’ll be doing
- Electronic & mechanical part & assembly approval, regulatory compliance & entry into PLM & ERP.
- Ensure data integrity in both systems safeguard against duplication.
- Proactively manage part obsolescence within product’s.
- Alternative part selection & use by suppliers via concessions.
- Support to Commercial & Bid’s for compliance & obsolescence.
The skills you need
- Degree, HND or equivalent in an electronics engineering discipline
- Proven experience within an electrical / mechanical design development environment
- Familiar with electronic & mechanical engineering best practice
- Knowledge of ARAS Innovator PLM & Access ERP would be an advantage (training can be provided)
- Relevant experience within a defence company is desirable
- Strong Microsoft Package experience
